Da Maro opened after the second world war in Bologna’s University quarter. It was named after the original owner, Adelmaro. It has always been part of life in Bologna and beyond, as its clients are offered genuine food, a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome.

In 1996 it was taken over by Gianluca Romano and his uncle Francesco Di Natale from Sicily.
They decided to specialize in fish prepared according to traditional family recipes. After a few years, Gianluca took over the management by himself. Together with his chef Christian Salas, he refined the menu by adding special Mediterranean flavours to the Sicilian recipes.
